Evaporation Pond for Recycling Water- China Coal Meng Daxin Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd.
The project covers an area of 30,000 m2 for the terminal treatment of sewage. In order to ensure groundwater safety, we provided staple fiber spunbond needle punched nonwoven geotextiles, geomembranes and other seepage prevention products as well as the needed construction service.
China Coal Meng Daxin Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd., located in Wushengzhao chemical engineering project area, in Inner Mongolia. Our company delivered an engineering plastic project which produces 500,000 tons of products in one year. We contracted the project concerning four main manufacturing sections, which include the manufacturing olefin with methanol, olefin hydrocarbon separation, polypropylene, and polyethylene, and the auxiliary projects.
Evaporation ponds, also known as sun-cure pools, use natural forces (sunshine, wind, etc.) to achieve absolutely no discharging of wastewater.
The detailed procedures are as follows
1. Natural evaporation of the water produced by the wastewater treatment process, leaving behind a strong brine.
2. Collecting the solid separated by oversaturated crystals
3. Disposal of the solids in a safe landfill
Due to the fact that the strong brine is considered hazardous waste, a double synthetic impermeable lining was used to ensure the safety of the seepage control system.
The seepage control system is designed with a composite double-layer structure.
The geosynthetics used in each layer are listed as follows (the order is from bottom to top)
1. Geosynthetic clay liner
It effectively avoids damage to the HDPE geomembrane liner due to differential settlement, as well as plays a secondary role in seepage prevention and separation.
2. HYH0.5—HYHT3 HDPE Geomembrane Liner
The upper HDPE geomembrane liner is the main impermeable layer. It is corrosion, aging and seepage resistant. The lower HDPE geomembrane liner takes on a subsidiary role in seepage resistance.
3. 3D drainage geonets
The drainage geonet sits between the upper and the lower geomembrane, which is used to detect the operating conditions of the upper geomembrane.
4. P3—P26 nonwoven geotextile
The geotextile protects the geomembrane from external damage, and conducts the water discharge.
